Our Grade 7/8 classes recently visited a ‘Living Library’ at Twain Sullivan Elementary School. This type of library isn’t your traditional collection of books to take out, but instead, it’s a library of people sharing their stories or their passions about a specific topic. Through this living library experience, our students gained knowledge and enjoyed hearing the personal experiences of their fellow community members. The areas of expertise shared by the speakers encompassed a wide range of topics related to possible career opportunities and hobby acitivities including such things as law enforcement, graphic design, biology, the outdoors, and triathlon competitions. A warm thank you to Tanya Margerm, teacher librarian at Twain Sullivan, for organizing and inviting us to participate in such a unique event.
